When the initial roster for Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers was first announced, Kamala Khan immediately stood out, because the rest of the field bestie entirely of heroes who up to this point have been core parts of the Marvel cinematic universe. Since then, we’ve learned that both Hawkeye and Spider-Man finally make their way to the game, and establish that Marvel’s Avengers will grow with time.

One of the biggest questions regarding the game has just been who he is go to the party at the party – if the game would include the comics’ large grids of the most powerful of the earth, as trying to hang as close as possible to the capitals of the MCU –something that would hopefully lead to the story becoming increasingly expansive and complex to meet new characters. While developer Crystal Dynamics has been mom about potential new playable characters, IGN reports that dataminers who got their hands on the Marvel’s Avengers beta were able to sive through the game’s code last weekend and identify at least 15 more Avengers who could step on the scene, with Kamala Khan and their great friends after the launch of the game.

Every playable character inside Marvel’s Avengers is encoded with a “challenge cardThis follows the progression of a player through various specialized missions that unlock special rewards such as alternate costumes that can be fitted while playing. Challenge card code doesdo not necessarily confirm that each particular character is definitely included in future DLC as updates – they could be cut, over or just early ideas that never made it far above those mentioned in the code. But with their existence in beta build, the reason is that the developers would not just throw the code away for any reason, suggesting that people will end up being able to play like them. The list found by dataminers includes Ant-Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Falcon, Kate Bishop, Mar-Vell (the original Captain Marvel, although this may or may not be inspired by the film captures the character is unknown), Mockingbird, Quake (aka Agents of SHIELD‘s Daisy Johnson), Scarlet Witch, She-Hulk, Vision, War Machine, Wasp, and the Winter Soldier.

What’s interesting is that, when the datamine is running indicate to be of Marvel’s Avengers‘future, the game has the potential to truly become the extended, cinematic experience that Marvel’s great foray back into gaming in recent years has hoped to be since the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man– and something that would make Avengers feel like something more than just a gritier take on the Marvel Ultimate Alliance franchise.

That being said, the extra Avengers could eventually fall into the game with nothing but a few useful cuts that establish who they are, without making them integral parts of Marvel’s Avengers‘plot. That would not necessarily be the worst thing in the world, but it’s almost not what people want when the game drops on September 4th.
