Marvel Studios stopped SHIELD agents from including SWORD

Agents of SHIELD is officially over, and the show’s executive producers have shared a ton of insight into the show’s seven seasons. Recently, they revealed that they almost included MODOK in the last season of the show, but Marvel changed their minds to allow them to use the character. Apparently, that’s not the only fetus they got when it comes to Marvel features. According to CBR, Jeffrey Bell said they tried to use SWORD, the space division of SHIELD, in previous seasons.

“We tried SWORD early [in the series] and we were shut down, “he revealed Agents of SHIELD never ended up using the name, they had many missions in space. In fact, Daisy Johnson’s story ended with her on Zephry Three, who served as the leader SHIELD’s team in space.

While it would be cool to get a real mention of SWORD on the series, we are not surprised that Marvel is shutting it down. Especially saw Disney’s WandaVision is expected to have the agency. Set photos we unveiled earlier this year indicate that SWORD will play a major role in the series with adult Monica Rambeau possibly on their payroll.

With filming taking place in Atlanta, however, it’s very possible that SWORD is showing up The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as well as. That series seems to be dealing with international espionage with a government-sanctioned replacement in Captain America, since US Agent was recently spotted with the iconic shield. This is normally within the framework of the agency SHIELD, and with its absence it may be a good opportunity to reveal a new group working on the world stage.

During the Agents of SHIELDAs showrunners ran out of interviews, they elaborated on some issues that come with working in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“We started a Marvel series with five new characters who were not in the comics,” Bell explained. “That people were like, ‘Boo, we don’t like these people.’ And what Marvel would give us is, “You can not agree with Loki’s staff. You can have this left-handed thing.” You know? That there was an expectation from the audience that we were going to see a superhero show with a lot of Marvel brands. And we were not allowed to do that. And we had the big secret, that we can not say it ‘H “word. We could not say ‘Hydra’. We could not say that Winter soldier or it would destroy it for everyone. “

The first six seasons of Agents of SHIELD are currently on Netflix, and the finale of the series will be shown on Hulu.
