Agents of SHIELD is officially over, and the show’s executive producers have shared a ton of insight into the show’s seven seasons. Recently, they revealed that they almost included MODOK in the last season of the show, but Marvel changed their minds to allow them to use the character. Apparently, that’s not the only fetus they got when it comes to Marvel features. According to CBR, Jeffrey Bell said they tried to use SWORD, the space division of SHIELD, in previous seasons.
“We tried SWORD early [in the series] and we were shut down, “he revealed Agents of SHIELD never ended up using the name, they had many missions in space. In fact, Daisy Johnson’s story ended with her on Zephry Three, who served as the leader SHIELD’s team in space.
While it would be cool to get a real mention of SWORD on the series, we are not surprised that Marvel is shutting it down. Especially saw Disney’s WandaVision is expected to have the agency.
