Mark Zuckerberg has been photographed riding his $ 12,000 Hawaii electric surfboard with a series of sunscreens on his face and a blue hoodie to protect himself from lightning.
The 36-year-old Facebook boss seemed to take extreme precautions against any sun damage during the beach outing on Saturday.
His trip comes three weeks after locals on the island of Kauai asked the tech billionaire to stop colonizing the land, claiming that he is suing the natives to build a mansion on their land. The Change.org campaign launched three weeks ago and has since garnered more than 800,000 signatures.
But Zuckerberg seemed to not let outrage bother him as he moved on the electric Efoil board alongside pro surfer Kai Lenny, who was left shirtless and without visible sunscreen all day. His safety was following him closely in a boat, the images show.
The billionaire’s first summery appearance sparked a wave of internet memes by Twitter users who called him the ‘surfer mime’ and suggested that he had been receiving fashion advice from the Joker, Mrs. Doubtfire, a moon and even a lizard.
Journalist Kevin Fallon wrote: “An exclusive photo of my sleep paralysis demon.”

Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan acquired a property of more than 700 acres for $ 200 million in Kauai in 2014. The couple stay on their sprawling estate with their two young daughters.
Organizers of the petition have accused the billionaire, “the world’s sixth richest man,” of trying to kick locals off the ground to make room for his vacation home.
Zuckerberg’s representatives responded to the campaign saying “the premise of the petition is false.”
After the photos from his overly jealous sunscreen application went viral, several people compared the tech billionaire to various incarnations of Batman The Joker. Journalist Kevin Fallon wrote: “An exclusive photo of my sleep paralysis demon.”
Sana Saeed shared a collection of Zuckerberg images over the years, writing: ‘Google photos of Mark Zuckerberg over the years, and you can see the human leave his body year after year.’
Another user simply compared it to the British comedy moon The Mighty Boosh. Bill Williamsoon snapped a snake’s tongue photo over the image, adding: “Mark Zuckerberg sssssurfing.”
Sean Scheidt wrote: “I can’t beat Zuckerberg’s appearance without his human makeup on his face.”

Billionaire Zuckerberg looked just as comfortable on the expensive electric surfboard on Saturday but less comfortable in the sun
Zuckerberg said in an interview published Monday that he “has no deal whatsoever” with President Donald Trump about content moderation on the social media giant. In an interview with Axios, he rejected “speculation” that Facebook had an agreement that unleashes the president on the platform.
“Let me be clear: There is no deal of any kind,” Zuckerberg told the news site. “Actually, the whole idea of a deal is pretty ridiculous.”
The comments come with Facebook under intense pressure, and a growing boycott of advertisers, to curb hateful content that can promote violence, including from Trump.
Facebook’s long-standing policy has been to avoid fact-checking political speech, but removed a Trump campaign ad that included a symbol used in Nazi Germany.
“There are many people who have said that perhaps we are too understanding or too close to the Trump administration,” said Zuckerberg.
The billionaire Facebook founder looked like an expert on board the $ 12,000 electric hydrofoil, which feels like flying over water.
His safety details and professional surfer Kai Lenny followed closely.

He noted that despite his conversations with Trump, Facebook has had a number of conflicts with the current administration, including attacks on Section 230, which provides online services with a shield of responsibility against content posted by third parties.
“Under this administration, we have faced record fines of $ 5 billion, we are under antitrust investigation by various agencies and we have been the target of an executive order to remove protections in Section 230,” he said.
He added that “I speak to the president from time to time, just as I spoke to our last president and political leaders around the world.”
Zuckerberg said he accepted an invitation to a private dinner at the White House with Trump “because I was in town and he is the President of the United States.”
He noted that “I also had several lunches and meetings with President Obama … both at the White House and abroad, including organizing an event for him at Facebook headquarters.”
