LOS ANGELES – Marge Simpson has advised a lawyer with the Trump campaign: do not name.
In a clip posted Friday by Fox’s animated series “The Simpsons,” matriarch Marge defended the lawyer over a tweet that compared her voice to that of the Democratic vice presidential candidate, Sen. Kamala Harris.
“I don’t normally get into politics, but the president’s former adviser, Jenna Ellis, just said that Kamala Harris sounds to me,” Marge says in the clip, adding that daughter Lisa Simpson says “she means it. not as a compliment. ”
“If that’s the case, I’m starting to feel a little bit disrespectful, like a normal suburban house,” Marge really said. “I teach my children not to name names, Jenna.”
Earlier this week, President Donald Trump tweeted that the “suburban housewife” would vote for me because he “ended the long-running program in which low-income homes would encroach on their neighborhood.”
When the half-minute clip ends, an off-camera Marge mumbles, “I would say I’m pissed, but I’m afraid they’ll blow it.”
Harris of California was announced this week as presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s choice for his running mate. The party’s convention will be held next week, mostly because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Ellis, senior lawyer for President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The campaign also did not respond immediately when asked for comment.
On Tuesday, Ellis, she posted on Twitter that “Kamala sounds like Marge Simpson.”
The long-running “The Simpsons” is known for mocking public figures and celebrities, including Trump among them. Actor Julie Kavner is the voice behind Marge Simpson.
