Man who filmed random attack on truck driver says Portland is’ like a third world country;

The man who registered a sick attack on a truck driver in Portland on Sunday night said the city of Oregon feels like a ‘third world country. ‘

Drew Hernandez recovered from the incident, near a federal courthouse, which saw the driver inadvertently kicked after he was chased by a mob, causing him to crash.

Speaking to Fox News, Hernandez said the man may have been defending a transgender woman who was beaten and robbed by protesters when the group turned its attention to the driver and his female companion.

Drew Hernandez, who filmed the incident on his mobile phone, spoke about his experience of being in Portland on Sunday night, saying 'sometimes it feels like walking into a third world country'

The unnamed man then got into his truck and drove away when he and the woman became a target, but collided in pursuit, Hernandez said.

“I think he just felt extremely threatened,” Hernandez said in an interview. ‘They chased him … until he finally crashed. When they finally caught up with him, they went nuts.

“This was great, extremely violent,” he said. ‘Sometimes I forget walking the streets of an American city in the Northwest. Sometimes it feels like you’re walking into a Third World county. ‘

The video that Hernandez filmed, which has since been widely shared online, shows the gut-wrenching moment that the truck driver was deliberately kicked by a protest.

The incident happened just blocks away from a demonstration by Black Lives Matter in the capital of Oregon, and happened from in front of the federal courthouse.

After protesters pulled the man out of his truck after crashing into a tree, he appeared dazed and blown out of his head as he sat on the ground, telling ‘wait for police to arrive. ‘

The man, who some offenders claimed they had ridden against them, was then deliberately beaten without a hitch by a cruel roundabout stop delivered from behind to the side of his head.

As he lay unconscious on the ground, rumors of ‘Black Lives Matter’ were heard while other Protestants tried to provide first aid.

Hernandez said that after violence broke out on Sunday – which has become a nightly event in the city – groups of Protestants attacked random circumstances.

“It’s literally just like one thing after another,” he said. ‘Just these random people, they start attacking physically.’

A robber wearing a shirt with the word 'Security' on it delivered a sick kick to the back of the man's head as he sat the other night in Portland, Oregon.

The crashed car and the ensuing attack were the culmination of a series of events, Hernandez told the news station, which began outside a convenience store further down the street from where the car crashed.

He explains that initially another man was harassed by a group of Protestants, who had asked him to leave a talking event because he was filming, before following him down the road.

Once in the convenience store, another woman – who Hernandez believes is transgender – stepped in before she was also attacked by the group.

It was at this point, says Hernandez, that the man who was shown kicking in the video stepped in to stop the group from attacking the woman. However, he and a female companion became the target of the group.

The man got into his truck and drove away, but was chased two or three blocks down the street before crashing into a tree, Hernandez explained, leading to the events seen in the video clip.

After the man was cut off by the stairs, other protesters shone on his motionless body and shouted obscenities.

While the man was on the floor, others began to search the man’s truck and when questioned by others, she explained that they were simply ‘checking on weapons’.

Sgt. Kevin Allen, a police spokesman, said the assailants “chased the truck before it crashed, and they attacked the driver after the accident.”

The man has been taken to hospital and there has been no update on his condition yet.

Sgt Allen said officers’ encountered a hostile crowd and a squad from the Rapid Response Team responded to secure the scene while the investigation was ongoing. ‘

Earlier footage shows the truck parked outside a 7-Eleven, with some assailants kicking it and attacking the man through the window, while others shouted, ‘He did nothing.’

The truck then starts taking the highway away before crashing a few blocks away into the tree.

Andy Ngo, a video journalist, tweeted several videos and explained that the driver had helped a woman who was beaten and robbed.

“The man who tried to protect her was later beaten and unconscious.” Ngo tweeted.

Drew Hernandez, a journalist who was at the scene, tweeted: ‘This is what happened before the man crashed his car into a tree here in downtown Portland. BLM men began harassing him and his female partner in the street and physically attacking him for defending someone they were robbing. He then started driving away to dodge them. ‘

Separate is a protest that began Sunday night, led by Letha Winston, whose son Patrick Kimmons, 27, was fatally shot by Portland police in 2018.

The group marched through downtown and landed outside the U.S. Oth Hatfield U.S. Courthouse, where people lit flowers and candles next to a photo of Kimmons.

Demonstrations, often violent, took place more than two months overnight in Portland after the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Participants broke into the Portland Police Association’s offices several times, vandalizing and setting them on fire.

During the day, a riot broke out and police used ammunition for crowd control, including smoke, to disperse a gathering outside a building of legislation.

Authorities said people threw ‘softball-sized’ rocks, glass bottles and other objects at officers. Two policemen were treated at the hospital after being hit by rocks. Eleven people were arrested.
