Malcolm Brogdon wearing a mask as a precaution in Pacers practice

Indiana Pacers guard Malcolm Brogdon returned to practice this week inside the Orlando bubble at Walt Disney World Resort with a new accessory.

After testing positive for the coronavirus, Brogdon wears a mask as a safety measure during training until official action resumes.

“I plan to do it until we start playing,” Brogdon said Thursday. “It’s something I’ve been doing for my conditioning and just to be considerate of men, in case men were concerned about me before I got the virus. I only use it to help be cautious and make men feel comfortable”.

Pacers coach Nate McMillan said he hasn’t given much thought to Brogdon spreading the virus with all the grueling evidence the NBA imposes.

“He’s working hard. He’s playing with a mask on, and that’s what Malcolm is doing,” said McMillan. “Just to give the team confidence that he is not spreading anything. He is not required to play in a mask, but he has been working that way for the past two days. We really haven’t even thought about it. All the tests the Boys we are passing and the tests that Malcolm has to pass to even get to the floor, we feel safe when he is out there practicing with us. “

Brogdon successfully completed his quarantine period and said he feels normal again.

The 2017 NBA Rookie of the Year averaged 16.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 7.1 assists for the Pacers in 48 games this season.

“He had very mild symptoms,” said Brogdon. “I had a fever and a headache but [other] People who contracted the virus had it much worse than I did, so I was lucky and blessed to have completely overcome the virus and feel great. So, I’m back to 100 percent. “
