Zuraida Kamaruddin says it would be “like a statesman” for Anwar to support Muhyiddin Yassin during the health crisis.

PETALING JAYA: A former PKR women’s leader blamed PKR President Anwar Ibrahim for the current political uncertainty after he accused the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government today of incompetence in considering a partial state of emergency.

Zuraida, who is now with PPBM, said Anwar seemed “to have completely forgotten that it was his recent actions that caused the ‘political instability’ and distraction in the battle against Covid-19.”

Urging him to “reflect on himself,” Zuraida said Anwar had also held a press conference last month stating that he had a “formidable and compelling majority” in Dewan Rakyat and that the government led by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin had left. collapsed.

“That said, he left the press conference without producing a single name to support his claim and this he did in the midst of a national health crisis,” added Zuraida.

She said that Anwar, who claimed the government lacked transparency, had not been transparent with Yang di-Pertuan Agong about his allegedly formidable and compelling majority when he had an audience with the King last week.

Coming to Muhyiddin’s defense, Zuraida said, while Anwar had continued a “prolonged and frivolous drama,” the government was trying to control the current rise in Covid-19.

Zuraida, who is Minister of Housing and Local Government in the Muhyiddin government, said Anwar should have supported Muhyiddin as the nation faces a health crisis. That would be “the closest thing to a statesman.”

Anwar’s accusation of PN incompetence came in a statement commenting on speculation that a partial state of emergency could be declared due to the increase in the number of Covid-19 infections.
