Zinedine Zidane has offered a compelling reflection of Real Madrid’s performance after suffering its toughest defeat in LaLiga in more than two years.
Carlos Soler scored a penalty hat-trick against Thibaut Courtois and Valencia surprised Los Blancos by beating them 4-1 at the Mestalla.
Despite striker Karim Benzema putting Madrid in the lead, Zidane’s team collapsed as Valencia increased the pressure as the score got worse.

The coach admitted that they did “everything wrong” once they conceded their first goal.
“We started the first half hour well,” said Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane.
“After the goal we collapsed and changed the dynamics. Everything happened to us; three penalties, an own goal. It is difficult to understand.”
