PASIR Puteh MP Nik Muhammad Zawawi Salleh today defended his comments on alcohol use in Christianity, saying that in scripture known as the Old Testament it is stated that alcohol is prohibited.

He stood firm in his earlier statement in the Dewan Rakyat that alcohol consumption was prohibited in all religions and “pleaded” with all who distorted his explanation in the lower house to support the campaign of Transport Minister Wee Ka Siong, against driving under the influence of alcohol.
