Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says that not getting the post of prime minister of Sabah “will be too much (for BN)”.

PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional (BN) President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says the old ruling coalition is against granting the post of Chief Minister of Sabah to any other party.

According to a report by The Star, Zahid said that he had written to Sabah Governor Juhar Mahiruddin, proposing to Sabah BN head Bung Moktar Radin as the next chief minister of the state.

He said BN had given way to the PPBM twice, allowing them to hold the posts of prime minister and Perak menteri kissing despite having more elected representatives.[postsofprimeministerandPerakmenteribesardespitehavingmoreelectedrepresentatives[postsofprimeministerandPerakmenteribesardespitehavingmoreelectedrepresentatives

In Perak, he said, Umno had 25 assembly members compared to PPBM’s four, but the party had accepted that PPBM’s Ahmad Faizal Azumu was the lie to kiss.

Similarly, Umno and Gabungan Parti Sarawak had agreed that Muhyiddin would be the prime minister even though PPBM did not have the largest number of deputies.

“Now for us, if we don’t get a Barisan (state assemblyman) as the prime minister in Sabah, the cost for Barisan in the future will be too much to bear.

“Our studies have shown that the impact would not be good for Barisan. I would not agree with Bung granting anyone else outside of Barisan to be prime minister. No, ”said Zahid.

Yesterday, Bung revealed that Juhar had asked for more time to decide on the appointment of the next prime minister after Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), made up of Perikatan Nasional (PN), BN and PBS, won the state elections.

The leaders of the PN and BN appeared to have made a decision yesterday after holding a meeting that lasted for hours to decide on the GRS prime minister candidate.

However, Bung sidestepped questions about who was the agreed prime ministerial candidate, saying: “We will let the governor decide.”
