The face of international R&B singer Yuna appears on giant billboards in New York as part of a campaign by the popular streaming platform Spotify to celebrate Asian musicians, Harian Metro reported.

Yuna, whose real name is Yunalis Zarai, said that she was proud to be the face of Asia.

“Look mom, I’m everywhere in New York (New York). Celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with Spotify,” said the Los Angeles-based singer on Instagram.

He also appeared in New York’s iconic Times Square in November 2016, as well as on an LED light billboard in the same location during the release of his new album, Rouge, last year.

> Berita Harian reported that while former actress Zarina Anjoulie may have been infamous for her controversies in the past, the celebrity has been doing charity work for the past decade.

“I have been doing charity work for the past 10 years, but not many people know that,” said Zarina, commonly known as Anju.

Saying that she preferred to use her own money to contribute to charities, Zarina added that when she started, she only helped those who lived in the same district as her.

“However, after the movement control order (MCO) began, I extended aid to other states, but there were people who accused me of taking advantage of the situation to get attention.

“I earn income doing paid Instagram reviews because I stopped acting. After it became known that I was using the money to contribute to society, more people became interested in getting involved to receive paid reviews,” he said.

> Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim, President of the Malaysian Film Directors Association, said he hoped the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia would consider allowing producers to start filming with the implementation of the conditional MCO starting May 4.

“We hope to start filming this week. We are prepared to comply with the SOP (standard operating procedure).

“Indoor filming with a crew of less than five people should be allowed,” he said.

Ahmad said that approximately 50 media companies submitted requests for filming, advertising and television shows each month before the conditional MCO went into effect.

Media companies, he said, had lost their source of revenue since the MCO began on March 18.
