Anwar open to working with Dr. M if Harapan principles were followed
Fernando: Is PKR President Anwar Ibrahim willing to work with Dr. Mahathir Mohamad for strong opposition? Damn if you do, damn if you don’t.
When Amanah’s Mohamad Sabu and DAP’s Lim Guan Eng in their joint statement, plus a veiled threat to Anwar, calling for a ‘political reboot’ that may jeopardize Anwar’s position as leader of the opposition, many who wanted to win Putrajaya to they condemned him at all costs when he refused to listen to their “advice.”
He showed his displeasure by canceling the Pakatan Harapan presidential meeting. Many condemned him for being selfish in not wanting to work with whoever had ‘betrayed’ him. Now it is the other way around.
When asked if he could work with Mahathir, conditionally, I repeat, conditionally, he said only if Mahathir agrees to follow Harapan principles. In case many don’t understand, he further emphasized, “employees should not present ‘personal agendas.’
There is no way for Mahathir to accept such conditions which are fair considering what happened last time when Mahathir was Prime Minister.

1. It’s time for PKR-DAP-Amanah to go off on its own. Make an estimate of the seats you can retain from the last general election. See where you can win the remaining seats.
2. Pejuang-Warisan will not win anything else. Instead, they could lose what they currently have.
So with the current MPs combined, why are they pushing for the prime minister position? Why can’t they give in to Anwar for a period or two?
3. For Muda, it is her first time. Let them go alone. See how they do. Yes, it is a difficult situation when you have fights from multiple corners.
4. Think about what PKR should address. How are you going to get Malaysian votes? And PKR needs to think about how to beat Sabah and Sarawak. They definitely need seats from there.
New Hope: Anwar is fully aware that PKR is imploding and the way it handled the last parliamentary session was far from satisfactory.
What are you talking about Harapan’s principles when you went behind their back to work with Umno to try to kick out Perikatan Nasional (PN)?
I have not seen anyone so desperate to be prime minister to try all these antics during the pandemic. After the last failed attempt to seize power with Umno, I think Anwar’s credibility is at an all-time low.
Frankly, I think PKR will do better with a new leader to take it to the next level.

The way forward is to inject new leadership with younger leaders in all of the parties that make it up, and there is a good selection of them across all races. Those longtime leaders should step aside to take on an advisory role and support these younger leaders.
For Harapan to regain Putrajaya, he must muster the support of Warisan and GPS in East Malaysia. It is too general a statement to characterize any party as kleptocratic.
Harapan must continue with its principles of good governance, an economic policy based on needs and not on race, a multiracial society based on merit, people-oriented and free from corruption.
It seems like an impossible mission, but there are many moderates between the different parties.
It may not seem possible with the older political generation with so much greedy, greedy and selfish agenda, but it certainly is possible with a younger group of leaders at all political and governmental levels.
A realignment of political parties may be necessary, but time for GE15 is running out.
Frank: In my guess, if the next Harapan government in power is going to be like the previous one headed by Mahathir and his friends, it is certain that the proclamation of “never again” should be for him as well.
Malaysia today is like previous years, a country with no future, and this is well recognized by smart people, including foreign investors.
It goes without saying that millions of lives depend on the upcoming general election. The stakes are huge. Trust me, it’s ‘bigger’ (if there is such a word!) Than you can imagine.
Vijay47: Anwar, if there is ever another truth as unshakable as the rising of the sun in the East, it is that Mahathir cannot be trusted. What part of “can’t be trusted” don’t you understand?
He has betrayed every relationship he has entered into, and he has disgraced every promise he has made. And do you still want to consider working with him?
A racist to the core and beyond, Mahathir is the man who sold our hard-fought victory after 60 years of tyranny, which ironically includes 22 years of his own rule.
He seems to have reached a stage devoid of his senses, he seems indifferent to the consequences of his machinations and is guided only by his obsession with placing his confused son in the prime minister’s seat.
And nothing can distract you from your search for the unholy grail.
We don’t mind the occasional mistake, Anwar, but monumental acts of insanity, like running with Mahathir again, will never be tolerated; If it came to that, we would just burn the ships and bridges and say to hell with you.
And this includes any romance with PAS and Umno or any of their criminal leaders who suddenly discover regret when Sungai Buloh calls them.
We have nothing to lose, Anwar. We wait 60 years; we can wait a little longer.
