Liverpool are now the favorites to sign Jadon Sancho next summer ahead of Manchester United, reports the Independent.
Manchester United chased Sancho throughout the summer but failed to come to a deal, and now there is a sense that Liverpool might well swoop down and beat their rivals.
It appears that Sancho will spend the rest of the season at Borussia Dortmund, before continuing into 2021.
And Liverpool are now a more likely destination for him than United, the latest report suggests.
Sancho, who has been hailed as “world class” by his current coach Lucien Favre (Bundesliga.com), is highly regarded by Jurgen Klopp.
And sources close to the player point out that the chances of him moving to Liverpool have just increased enormously.
If Sancho were to join Liverpool, it could cause a shakeup in Klopp’s team attack.
Surely Sancho would not be happy to be second fiddle to players like Mo Salah and Sadio Mane, so Liverpool may have to switch to one of their current stars, if the England international comes along.
Liverpool would almost certainly have to break their transfer record to bring in Sancho, and the arrival of the 21-year-old would be one of their most exciting transfer moves in years.
