SIBU: The discovery of a woman’s body, stuffed in a suitcase, off the Jalan Aman highway here has shocked the city.
District Police Chief Asst Comm Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the gruesome find was made at 6.45am yesterday, when a passerby reported the suspicious-looking suitcase to police.
He said the deceased, identified as 37-year-old Heng Meow Lin, was wearing a gray round-neck T-shirt and dark blue polka dot long pants.
The items found with her included two handwritten notes in Chinese and one of them had an ID number with a state code 08 that belongs to Perak.
ACP Stanley said no identification document was found.
“The body was found partially inside the bag. We believed that the woman could have died elsewhere and her body was dumped here.
“There were no signs of injuries on his body,” he said, adding that the body had been sent to Sibu Hospital for an autopsy.
He said that two people, a man and a woman, were arrested at a house in Jalan Tong Sang in connection with the case.
