Woman arrested for alleged accident for driving under the influence of alcohol

KUALA LUMPUR: A 52-year-old woman believed to be driving under the influence was arrested today after she collided with two motorcycles and fled the scene at Jalan Taman Mulia in Ampang, near here, yesterday.

Ampang Jaya Police Chief, ACP, Mohamad Farouk Eshak, said a motorcycle had broken down and another motorcyclist was helping the owner with the machine at around 12:40 AM. M.

He said the woman who was allegedly drunk crashed into the motorcycles before stopping.

Mohamad Farouk said one of the motorcyclists approached the woman, but she refused to cooperate and left the scene.

He said none of the parties involved were injured and that police managed to track down the woman before arresting her.

Mohamad Farouk said the woman was sent to a hospital for a blood test to determine whether she had consumed alcohol.

In a video taken by a motorcyclist, the drunken-looking woman is seen babbling when the man interrogates her.

When asked if he had consumed alcoholic beverages, he initially says no, but later admits yes.

The motorcyclists are then heard telling her to park her car on the shoulder of the road for her own safety, but the woman drives away.
