Wiretap Driver Claims Trial For 40 Cheating Charges In Johor Land Deal

JOHOR BARU: A 39 year old electronic call driver claimed a trial in the Magistrates Court here on 40 counts of cheating a businessman in a bogus land deal for more than RM2 thousand.

Noridah Abd Aziz has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him in front of Magistrate R. Salini here on Wednesday (September 2).

He had allegedly committed a crime under Section 420 of the Penal Code read with Section 34 of the same Act by tricking P. Krishnan into conducting monetary transactions amounting to RM2.48 thousand between March and July 2019 on land in Forest City here.

Noridah is charged with committing the crime together with another suspect named T. Saravanan, who remains at large.

If convicted, she faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in jail and a fine upon conviction.

Salini then posted bail at RM5,000 with a bond for each of the 40 charges against Noridah.

He also ordered the defendant to hand over her passport to the court and report to the nearest police station until the end of the case.

Salini also set the next mention of the case on October 13.

DPP Chan Choon Yew prosecuted the case while the defendant was not represented.
