KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional has to win the elections first before he can think of a candidate for Sabah’s Chief Minister, says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

“The important thing is that we all focus on winning. We have to work together for that. If we are divided so early on this issue, we may lose the elections.

“If we lose, what is there to discuss?” said the Umno vice president after officiating at a fundraiser for the Tabung Pahlawan fund at the Royale Chulan hotel here on Tuesday (September 15).

On the recent revelation by a foreign news agency that a Chinese company with reported links to military and intelligence networks in the country had collected data on 1,400 Malaysians and from a US Air Force plane. Passing by a Malaysian plane while spying on China’s military bases, Ismail Sabri, who is also a defense minister, said authorities are investigating the matter.

“First you have to investigate many things. We have to investigate, ”he said.

Regarding the SOPs of Covid-19, he emphasized that workers in the facilities must also comply.

“It is the same as for the rest. If they are not using MySejahtera, they should take their temperature and so on, ”he said.

At Tuesday’s event, various artists helped raise funds for the Tabung Pahlawan fund.

“It is difficult to do such events today because of the motion control recovery order (MCO). We try to find other ways to do this campaign and one of the ways is through social media.

“A lot of new and old artists have come and I hope this helps. This year, our goal is to collect RM10 thousand, but for now, we have only collected around RM300,000, so we have a long way to go, ”he said.

He added that the entire nation should come together to support the fund.

“The money raised now does not include the usual corporate donations, but these companies also face difficulties due to the recovery of the MCO.

“Public participation is important,” he said.
