Will PKR matter using its own logo in Sabah surveys?

YOUR OPINION | “If there is cooperation, the banner used is a secondary issue.”

DAP using the Warisan banner will not influence PKR from its own logo

DAP will compete under the Warisan banner in Sabah

McLovin: Warisan logo or PKR logo – what’s the difference? As long as they’re in the same boat, have the same enemies, and fight the same fight, that’s what matters the most.

Amanah and DAP can use any logo they want. PKR too. This is because they believe that their chances of winning are higher that way. Isn’t that what democracy is all about?

In Sabah, the number of PKR members is the second highest behind Selangor. They built their foundations well, so it’s not right to ask them to use the Warisan logo.

Both DAP and Amanah know that non-Chinese would be less inclined to vote for them because they will be seen as a foreign party and will not have any business in Sabah. By using the Warisan logo, the locals will accept them more.

Malaysia Bharu: It is a wise move for DAP to use the Warisan logo. Being a peninsula-based party, it is certainly an advantage to use the Warisan logo to project a united force needed to take on the frogs that were about to seize power from the back door.

PKR is a disappointment. They are unwilling to reveal the reason why they are against the use of the Warisan logo which would go a long way towards projecting a united front as well as helping to win this election.

It was precisely this kind of strange and selfish behavior that contributed to the defections and dissolution of the Pakatan Harapan government.

Undecided: If the other parts of the Harapan Plus group are satisfied with the seating assignment, then the logo used shouldn’t be a problem. After all, PKR is already a well-known party in Sabah, Sarawak, as well as in Peninsular Malaysia.

If there is cooperation, the banner used is a secondary topic. It is good for Harapan to measure the strength of PKR in Sabah in a state election using their own logo after the Sheraton Move.

The main thing is the pragmatic allocation of seats and to face the opposition in a united way.

IndigoTrout2522: When the parties of the PN-BN component were unable to act together (disagreeing over the allocation of seats), it showed a crack in the coalition. It may not be a big deal for some, but it certainly shows a lack of unity.

Again, PKR should not have made an announcement on the logo until the Harapan presidential council makes a firm decision.

In this case, the leader of the PKR, Anwar Ibrahim, was wrong. Hopefully Anwar and PKR will reverse their decision and use a common logo, as that will make a strong statement that the coalition is united and working together.

New day: How different is this from DAP under the Warisan banner than PAS under the BN banner?

I guess at least Warisan is strictly a Sabah brand, but that’s it. Mind you, I’m not a native of Sabah, I just ignorantly comment from afar.

Anonymous 5035: At the end of the day, the president of Warisan, Shafie Apdal, is the man of former Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. The latter started all this and ended up losing the mandate of the rakyat to Perikatan Nasional (PN).

Coming under a logo means nothing in today’s political scene. How well did the use of the common logo work in the previous general elections?

Obviously very good for Bersatu, who took us for a walk and used the common logo to further his ends and upset the hopes of the rakyat.

As for Anwar and his party, I think we should respect his decision to use his own logo. Win or lose, whatever happens.

PurpleKijang9104: With his obsession with wanting to become prime minister, Anwar’s dream may come to an end with his party’s refusal to use a common logo.

Are you trying to be the kingmaker in Sabah like what Mahathir has been saying to his Pejuang?

Anwar is taking a chance. When you don’t want to be a team player, how do others respect you? It is better for PKR to end the dream of propelling Anwar as the next prime minister.

BlueShark1548: Unsurprisingly, Anwar’s PKR is the spoiler. PKR claimed that it has more than 170,000 members in the state, but how many are the people of former party vice president Azmin Ali?

Anwar is a nobody in Sabah, but PKR is looking for so many seats. Any PKR victory is due to Shafie’s hard work and popularity with the locals, not Anwar.

In Sabah, parties without deep pockets cannot win the elections and even more so on the night of results: how to control defectors?

EIGHT: PKR spoils everything. Ignore solidarity. If the intention is to return Warisan to government, then PKR has betrayed the primary agenda. He never learns.

Odysseus: Anwar, the ball is at your feet.

Play as a team player or if you choose to do it with only the PKR logo, you will not be seen as a group leader. Just a lone wolf looking for PM’s job.

The Wakandan: In Sabah politics, there are so many frogs from big to small, from fat to thin. Whatever it is, they will. They are the champions in the frog game.

So it doesn’t matter which logo the candidates use. What matters is after the election, if they are still where they are supposed to be.

The reason we are having these snap elections is precisely because of the frogs.

In the blink of an eye, loyalties changed and the government fell. Party leaders should be more concerned about whether they can keep their members. They should be concerned about the influence of former Prime Minister Musa Aman.

In the land of frogs, the slippery creatures would be difficult to control. So be careful.
