WhatsApp makes it easy to remove unwanted photos and videos taking up your phone storage

[ad_1]

You probably don’t realize it, but WhatsApp can take up a lot of storage space on your phone. If you’ve been getting a lot of photos and videos from group chats, there is now a nifty new feature that allows you to find and delete specific files much easier.

Currently, you can only use WhatsApp’s “Storage Usage” feature, which allows you to delete files based on group and file type. While it helps you quickly remove files from the application, it does not allow you to choose specific files in case there are some that you would like to keep; the only option you have is to delete everything.

With the new “storage management” tool, you can review the files you want to delete. You will also be able to see how much space you have left, as well as how much storage space you have used so far.

You will also be able to see categories like “Forwarded many times” and “Larger than 5 MB” that can help you decide which files are not needed. The feature is expected to roll out around the world this week.
