MANCHESTER UNITED fans are convinced Edinson Cavani handed over dirt from the old Paris Saint-Germain to Axel Tuanzebe ahead of Tuesday’s clash.
The Red Devils beat Les Parisiens 2-1 at the Parc des Princes when they began their Champions League campaign with a hard-fought victory.
And Tuanzebe was a standout player for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team when he starred in his first game of the season.
The 22-year-old DRC-born England youth international won all of his air battles and made seven punts, the most of the game.
A clip of Cavani speaking to Tuanzebe at training has gone viral, with supporters joking that he leaked information about his former employers.
The duo presumably spoke French and Cavani spent seven years in Paris, while the language is one of three that Tuanzebe can speak.
Commenting on the video, a fan tweeted: “I already love Cavani’s positive influence in helping young players.”
Another message said: “Experience is always important in games like this, I couldn’t play, but you were right to warn others.”
A third added: “I think Cavani is giving Axel advice on how Neymar and Mbappé will attack him and the boy didn’t listen well.”
One simply said, “Cavani is already worth the 10 million agent fees we had to pay.”
Meanwhile, one joked: “Cavani has not even been on the field for a second and has already done more for us than Sánchez in 2 seasons.”
Tuanzebe’s teammates were quick to praise the young man after his dazzling display, as Marcus Rashford put it: “I’ve known Axel from a young age.
“He’s an incredible defender, and for me he has no problem stepping in even though he’s been out for a long time.”
David De Gea then praised: “It was amazing today.
“He played against two of the best players in the world in Neymar and Mbappé, so he did very, very well. I am very happy for him.”
