It is also the second year in a row for BTS to win Best Group and Best K-Pop, both of which were newly created categories last year.
For the special night, BTS performed their first performance of their English single “Dynamite” as their first performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s ceremony featured performances from remote locations, with BTS’s stage taking place in South Korea.
