IPOH: A 34-year-old man, wanted by the police for a logging case in November, was found dead in Tanjung Rambutan.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said the man was found to have cut wounds to his back and arm on Friday (January 1) around 11:30 a.m. M.
ACP A. Asmadi said the man is believed to have confronted a group of men near a shed that was used by drug addicts on Thursday (December 31) around 7:30 p.m.
“Investigations showed that he was unhappy with the group because his younger brother had been arrested in connection with the logging case in November.
“Then an argument broke out and he tried to escape but fell,” ACP A. Asmadi told reporters.
“They cut off his back and arm. They almost cut off his wrist,” added ACP A. Asmadi.
“We also recovered a 0.6 m long machete at the site,” he said.
ACP A. Asmadi said the victim had 12 records, including murder, and was also wanted by the police for the court case in November.
He said the victim had faced the group alone.
“We have identified those involved and now we are trying to locate them.
“The case will be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder,” he said.
