PETALING JAYA: A list of 25 female candidates was sent to the party leadership for consideration to participate in the 15th General Election, says Wanita MCA.

“We have sent a list of 25 women candidates for the party’s consideration. We believe that the most winning candidate should be proposed because at the end of the day, we must win more seats to strengthen the MCA, ”he said during a press conference after Wanita MCA’s 45th annual general meeting on Saturday (March 6).
On the other hand, on the issue of child marriages, Heng said the issue transcends racial and religious backgrounds, and should be treated seriously as a children’s rights issue.
“Wanita MCA asks leaders to see this broadly when developing policies and solutions, not based on their own beliefs or opinions.
“We have officially written to the Ministry of Development of Women and the Family months ago to set an appointment to meet with their minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun and his deputy for a round table on child marriage, child citizenship and other issues related to women and the bases”. she said.
