All eyes will be on the Kuala Lumpur courthouse tomorrow as Judge Mohamed Zaini Mazlan is expected to deliver his decision on his RM2 million corruption case at 9am.

Zaini had initially set November 17 for a decision, but it was postponed following the application of the conditional motion control order.

Aside from the Tengku Adnan case, the Kuala Lumpur court complex will be in the limelight as will two other high-profile corruption cases: one involving former Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, and the other involving MP from Kinabatangan. , Bung Moktar Radin, who is also a Sabah MP. The prime minister, and his wife Zizie Izette Abd Samad, will also be mentioned tomorrow in separate session courts.

Tengku Adnan, better known as Ku Nan, was accused in his capacity as a civil servant, i.e. minister of federal territories, of having received for himself a total of RM2 million from a businessman, Chai Kin Kong, who is Aset Kayamas Sdn Bhd ( AKSB) director.

It was made through a check from the Hong Leong Islamic Bank belonging to the company, which was deposited into a CIMB account owned by Tadmansori Holdings Sdn Bhd (THSB), in which Tengku Adnan has an interest and known to AKSB as a relative. of their duties.

The Putrajaya MP was charged with committing the offense under Article 165 of the Penal Code at CIMB Bank Berhad, Pusat Bandar Damansara, here on June 14, 2016.

He faces a prison term of up to two years or a fine, or both, upon conviction.

The trial began on July 2 last year when the prosecution called 23 witnesses, including two former mayors of Kuala Lumpur, Ahmad Phesal Talib and Mohd Amin Nordin Abd Aziz, as well as Chai, the star prosecution witness.

On October 14 last year, the High Court ordered Tengku Adnan to present his defense on the corruption charge after finding that the prosecution had successfully established a prima facie case against him.

Tengku Adnan, who is a former secretary general of Umno, chose to give his sworn statement from the witness stand and his defense process took place over two days, on January 17 and March 5.

In his testimony, Tengku Adnan admitted that he received a check for 2 million ringgit from Chai on June 14, 2016 for campaign expenses for the by-elections in Sungai Besar (Selangor) and Kuala Kangsar (Perak) on June 18, 2016. same year.

The former minister also told the court that the 2 million ringgit handed over by Chai was like “pocket money” to him.

On December 7, Tengku Adnan received a discharge that does not amount to an acquittal by a High Court here on another charge of accepting a RM1 million bribe from businessman Tan Eng Boon, who had pleaded guilty to an alternative charge of complicity with the politician, and was fined 1.5 million ringgit.

Judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali made the decision after being informed that the prosecution did not wish to continue the case against Tengku Adnan as there was news in the case.
