The judge also ordered the defendant, who was present with his father, to serve his jail sentence as of September 30 and undergo rehabilitation therapy for eight years.
“The court also orders the defendant to be placed under police surveillance for three years after serving his jail sentence.
“After studying all the evidence and hearing submissions from both parties, the court finds the defendant guilty under Section 14 (a) of the Sexual Offenses Against Children Act 2017,” said Yong Zarida.
However, the court accepted a request from Shahril, represented by attorney PG Cyril, for a stay of execution of the sentence, pending an appeal in the High Court.
By allowing the stay, Yong Zarida increased the bail from RM 8,000 to RM 15,000 and ordered the defendants to report to the nearest police station until the case was concluded.
Shahril was charged with sexually assaulting the boy by withholding the victim’s genitalia for sexual purposes at his home in Subang Bestari, Shah Alam between 12:15 pm and 12:45 pm on November 22, 2018, under Section 14 (a), that establishes a penalty of 20 years in prison. and spanking. – Bernama
