Unemployed man charged with his father’s murder

IPOH: An unemployed man was indicted in Magistrates Court here today for the murder of his father.

Pang Kar Foong, 49, appeared calm when the charge was read to Judge Noor Azreen Liana Mohd Darus.

However, no motive was recorded. Murder cases are referred to the High Court.

It is alleged that Pang intentionally caused the death of 75-year-old Pang Kei Tat by using a bottle and a fragment of a bottle of soy sauce in a house in Jalan Besar K / B Gunung Rapat here, around 6.30pm on September 12.

Murder is a capital crime and the accused faces the mandatory death penalty if convicted.

Deputy Prosecutor K Darinee appeared before the prosecution while the accused was represented by R Rajasegaran.

The court set November 9 for referral pending the post-mortem report.

Meanwhile, Rajasegaran told reporters that his client needed follow-up mental treatment at Tanjung Rambutan Hospital here.
