Umno wants to make decisions in the new government coalition

YOUR OPINION | “What Agong should do is insist on a multiracial coalition.”

Umno – from king to kingmaker?

Smart voter: Any minority government always runs the risk of being held back by warlords for ransom. Parliament has become a trading house where its members have been put up for sale without shame.

But Umno, despite his ample resources, cannot pressure Bersatu Prime Minister and President Muhyiddin Yassin for the important concession of dropping criminal charges against its senior members. This is the key. Pushing these people away is probably the most practical way to restart the party.

Umno has found a suitable friend in PAS, but even this is not guaranteed due to the gap in their beliefs and ideologies. Putting aside the issues of race and religion, which will eventually lose their differentiation, questions are now emerging.

What Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah should do is insist on a multiracial coalition. One that truly reflects the relevance and realities of the future. The truth cannot be hidden and endless lies will get us nowhere.

While PKR President Anwar Ibrahim can claim the numbers, he too must convince that there is a better agenda.

The Muhyiddin regime has already demonstrated the emptiness of its rule, and it cannot do better than what Pakatan Harapan had tried to do. From a ‘black shoes’ minister to a ‘hot water can heal’ minister, we have seen the very low quality of the people who must lead.

Can Umno or even Anwar be better? The country must get out of its denial trap. To do this, we need someone who has the guts to dictate and reestablish the country. And locking up corrupt politicians is one of these things you should do.

Vice President Biden: If the biggest chameleon in Malaysian politics, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad can sleep with DAP and PKR after insulting them, imprisoning their leaders, creating criminals like former Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and elevating him just because his father, Abdul Razak Hussein, he brought it. Back in Umno after being fired by Tunku Abdul Rahman, Umno is just following in the footsteps of his great teacher.

Mahathir’s mole in Umno, Hishammuddin Hussein, who engineered the defection of Umno’s deputies to Bersatu, will vehemently protest this.

The ultimate goal of Mahathir and Muhyiddin is to break Umno, usurp his MPs, and never allow Anwar to rise due to personal revenge (Anwar has no corruption charges and his children are not millionaires). The sodomy charges were Mahathir’s game plan, this was followed by his protégé, Najib.

Now, the circle is complete. Umno will do whatever it takes for his survival, even sleeping with his enemies because if he doesn’t, Mahathir and Muhyiddin will.

With a mole in the middle, Umno’s survival depends on the elimination of Muhyiddin and Bersatu, who are greater threats than Anwar, DAP, or Harapan.

Dutch lady: Umno has been the main bully since 1981, when Mahathir became Prime Minister and now all of a sudden Bersatu (also established by Mahathir) started intimidating other parties, including those with more MPs.

So, obviously, Umno wants to go back to fill the main thug position.

Doc: With all these Malay-based parties politicking to stay in power, line their pockets, get some shiny new Mercedes Benzes and get out of jail free cards; the fact of the matter is that the Rakyat, especially the Malay community, are suffering.

But at the end of the day, when Malaysians are being duped by their ‘Malaysian first’ parties – Bersatu, PAS and Umno – and left to fend for themselves while the country saddles with massive loans and meager income, the blame will be on the Chinese. and the DAP for “robbing” the Malays.

Peaky Blinder: It seems to me that this new government will probably be Umnocentric if Anwar actually made deals with many Umno MPs. This would be exactly DAP’s nightmare, as DAP has already made it clear that they cannot cooperate with the corrupt leaders of Umno.

For now, we can only look at what awaits us in the coming weeks.

Milshah: @Peaky, that’s why it is impossible to have a government with Umno and DAP in it. Who will be the deputy prime minister or finance minister of this government? Can you imagine Umno Chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi sitting next to DAP Secretary General Lim Guan Eng at a cabinet meeting?

The Anwar government is doomed to fail if it is ever formed, which is highly unlikely, if not impossible.

Winter as it comes: Yes, it is not that simple. Umno and PKR cannot form a government by themselves. DAP will be a factor.

Forming a government with mosquito parties will be a nightmare since everyone has their own agenda. If someone is upset and does not get their bowl of soup, they will leave and the country will end in another political crisis.

Perhaps a general election is the only way out. It’s a shame that Sabah voted the way he did without a clear indication of where the country is headed. With the economy in the pits, we need capable leaders, not jokers and lawbreakers like we have them now.

Kuniyo: If Muhyiddin or Mahathir work with Umno, they are mad for power and corrupt traitors. But if Umno works with Anwar, Umno will be seen as a match of principle: all of Umno’s past sins will be forgiven.

The big picture is that Anwar should be the prime minister. And if DAP retired because they don’t want to work with Umno, DAP is a traitor. The most important principle is that Anwar should be the prime minister; at least, that’s what the Anwar worshipers will tell you.

Anwar is a godsend to save Malaysia. In fact, you will end Covid-19 after becoming PM. Not only that, Malaysia will be the first country to go to Mars under Anwar’s prime minister.

FairMalaysian: @Kuniyo, Anwar doesn’t need to be a savior. All you need to be is human. And you don’t have to be cheeky.

Muhyiddin had the opportunity to show us how he handles the pandemic. It will only be fair if Anwar has a chance to show his mettle. If we are not happy with what it does or how it does it, then we can put it into practice.

Patathewoonie: The political landscape has changed dramatically. A friend is not a friend, an enemy is not an enemy, no more gigantic party, no more two-thirds majority, and therefore each party must realign its political interests.

We want a government with good government. As long as we can walk and work this path, minus the traitors, it doesn’t matter who is in charge. All of these parties are welcome if they can form a legitimate coalition and a legitimate government.
