PETALING JAYA: A member of the Umno Supreme Council has been admitted to the hospital after testing positive for the first Covid-19 test, a party source said.
He said Mohd Razlan Rafii’s rapid test kit showed a positive result and is awaiting the result of his second test.
In a 22-second video, Razlan is seen lying on a hospital bed. “Now I’m in drops,” he said.
He urged the public to be cautious with the transmission of Covid-19 and advised them to follow physical distancing.
“When doing the swab test, it’s critical to isolate yourself first,” he said.
Razlan was said to have been campaigning in the Sipitang area of Sabah.
News portal SuaraTV said his close contacts are being tested for Covid-19.
Chief Security Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said he is awaiting an official report on Razlan’s case. He said he had asked Razlan to quarantine him in Sabah if the report was true.
Ismail said the cabinet will discuss health and safety issues for the Sabah elections scheduled for Saturday.
Sabah has recorded the highest number of Covid-19 cases over the past week, and new clusters have been reported.
FMT has contacted Razlan to confirm the Covid-19 test results.
