Umno fights back, Bersatu on the receiving end

YOUR OPINION | “If they can backstab Harapan and Dr. M, why are they surprised if they themselves get backstabbed …”

Faizal Azumu loses MB’s vote of confidence and promises a smooth transition

BusinessFirst: I thought there would be no politicking due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, Perikatan Nasional (PN), BN and their followers follow the principle “do what I say but not what I do”.

Anyway, this is to be expected as even Umno is said to trust Pakatan Harapan’s honesty, including DAP, more than Bersatu.

Of course, what do you expect when you are in a coalition with traitors? They had no qualms about stabbing Harapan in the back to form PN.

If they can backstab Harapan and even their own leader, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, why would they blink when they themselves get stabbed in the back?

Do you think Umno is stupid for waiting for Bersatu to attack? They didn’t stay in power for more than 60 years because they are political idiots. Don’t confuse being corrupt and dishonest with stupidity.

Perhaps now we understand why, in Johor, the Umno-led NP government is taking a more cooperative stance.

Perhaps they are trying to suggest to the Harapan opposition: “It is better to be in the opposition with a Umno menteri kissing than to be in a Harapan government with a Bersatu MB.”

WSK: A classic case of a Machiavellian thief who finally tries his own treacherous medicine. This Bersatu State Assemblyman for Chenderiang (Ahmad Faizal Azumu) received the MB publication.

Before long, he collaborated with Umno and PAS to quietly collapse the Harapan state government on the condition that he keep his MB post.

When you work with traitors, trust, dignity and integrity are meaningless. Good trip!

IndigoTrout2522: After the fourteenth general election, Bersatu had only one seat in the Perak assembly, yet Mahathir awarded them the MB seat.

This made no sense as DAP, PKR, and Amanah had more seats. Also, if a vote of no confidence could take place in a state assembly, why not also in Parliament?

BlueShark1548: @ IndigoTrout2522, Muhyiddin just copied Mahathir. He made sure the Prime Minister of Sabah is from Bersatu. But now is the time for Umno to show Muhyiddin who has the power.

OrangeHawk3664: This should teach Bersatu a lesson that they are not the largest or largest party in the NP coalition.

For an ‘ikan bilis’ party, Bersatu has unilaterally appointed his own in key and powerful positions to consolidate his grip on power.

They thought BN will bow down to them as PAS; how wrong they were. The PAS has never tasted federal power, only state power. This is different from BN, which has ruled for more than 60 years.

BN is definitely not as easy as PAS, who has to put up with Bersatu to enjoy power in Putrajaya. A really good turn of events that should be replicated in every state.

Dutch lady: Outgoing Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal, Bersatu’s number two, is no longer Perak’s number one man. This is a fantastic hit for ‘abah’.

More to come from Umno from now on. Bersatu must know that Umno is not like DAP and PKR. Umno and Bersatu yearn for power.

Vgeorgemy: In the end, Bersatu’s Secretary General Hamzah Zainudin and Supreme Council Member Azmin Ali were unable to do anything in their own backyard to shore up their regime after losing trust in the state assembly.

Umno is on his way to revenge.

Anony.1548748615957: Congratulations to the Perak State Assembly for acting in a mature, admirable and democratic manner to serve as a role model for Parliament and other State Assemblies to emulate.

Gerard Lourdesamy: This is what democracy is about and not the shameful obfuscation and obstruction that is occurring in the Dewan Rakyat under the servile Speaker of the Chamber Azhar Azizan Harun and the rickety PN government.

The Perak State Legislative Assembly was redeemed after the shocking events of 2009 when the then Pakatan Rakyat State President V Sivakumar was removed from the legislative chamber and imprisoned in a warehouse, while the then backdoor government of the BN elected a new president.

As a Perakian, I am very proud of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah, who has once again proven himself to be a wise ruler and the epitome of a constitutional monarchy.

P_Mammen: A big thanks to the Speaker of the Assembly, Mohamad Zahir Abdul Khalid, for allowing the motion of confidence.

He does not resemble speaker Dewan Rakyat, the resourceful evader who refuses to entertain or allow such movement.

McLovin: It serves you well, Faizal. This is what you get when you betray your friends in Harapan who supported you through difficult times. When you were done using them, you stabbed them in the back and joined those who you thought were more “fair” than Harapan.

Now, they are done using you. They didn’t just stab you in the back. They shot you in the back while hugging you. This time, running to Istana crying and begging for your job wouldn’t work anymore.

By the way, I hope they let you follow the Lexus.

Me: @McLovin, no way. Return the Lexus. The Perakians paid for it.

Oxymoronic trends: I’m not sure if this is good or bad. Anything that makes a dent in the NP is prima facie good. but the unanswered question is what’s next?

Who will now be MB? Umno (return to the past) or Harapan (also to the past)

Hang Babeuf: The political confusion continues.
