Two women and two girls die in morning fire in Sarawak

MIRI: A total of four people were killed when a store was destroyed in a fire at 3 am on Sunday (September 27) in the city of Debak in central Sarawak.

The state Fire and Rescue Department said in its latest update that the four bodies found were female and have been identified as 60-year-old Sirin Yusuf, 23-year-old Rosni Sari, 10-year-old Dayang Eset and 6-year-old Dayang Eset. -Old Dayang Arrohan.

The firefighters who discovered his remains inside the store did not reveal whether the four deceased were from the same family, and also said that all the bodies were turned over to the police.

“At approximately 2.50 am, our fire station received a 999 emergency call from the public saying that a store was on fire in Kampung Melayu. Our unit from the Betong City Fire Station ran to the scene and found the store. on fire, “the department said.

He added that the cause of the fire is still being investigated.

The distance from Betong city to Debak municipality is about 40 km and Betong is about

300 km north of the state capital, Kuching.
