KUALA LUMPUR: Two construction workers were killed, while two others are believed to have been seriously injured after a crane fell on a car at a road construction site in Puncak Banyan, Persiaran Alam Damai here.

The driver of the car, a Malaysian, was seriously injured, while two construction workers fell 120 meters from the construction site and died at the scene.

A spokesperson for the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department said firefighters are rescuing another worker trapped at the site.

“We received a call about the incident at 8:45 am and 25 firefighters from Cheras, Tun Razak and Hang Tuah were deployed to the scene,” it said in a statement.

This is the second incident involving the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang (SUKE) elevated highway this year, as five people were trapped in a factory van traveling on the MRR2 highway near Bandar Tasik Selatan on March 3 when it fell. a part of a bridge under construction. about him at around 5.58pm after he was struck by a trailer carrying heavy machinery.

In the previous incident involving the factory van, two women were killed and three other people were seriously injured.
