KUALA LUMPUR: Two men have been arrested in connection with a robbery at a pharmacy along Jalan Gombak-Setapak.
Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Rajab Ahad Ismail said the two men aged 31 and 40 were detained at a hotel in Jalan Pudu around 2 am on Tuesday (November 24).
“We also seized the clothing used in the heist. The jewelry that was stolen was sold to a third party and we are in the middle of tracking down the suspect,” he said when contacted later Tuesday.
Supt Rajab said the suspects have criminal records, including for drug-related offenses.
“We believe the suspects were involved in various robberies and vehicle thefts in Setapak and Sentul.
“The car used in the robbery was reported stolen at Cyberjaya,” he added.
The suspects will be sent to pretrial detention for further investigation, Supt Rajab said.
“We will complete the investigation and forward the investigation document to the deputy prosecutor.
“We are grateful for the cooperation shown by all parties that led to the arrests,” he said.

The video of a robbery in a pharmacy went viral on social networks and WhatsApp.
45-second CCTV footage of the area captures two men alighting from an orange compact car and walking toward a plot.
The video cuts to another camera angle showing one of the men opening the pharmacy door and entering.
He walks towards the cashier before the video turns to another angle and shows him approaching a woman at the cashier’s counter.
The man, who was dressed in black and wearing a mask, then tugs on the woman’s necklace and she begins to fight.
The man then snatches the necklace from him while the woman and the cashier fight him and he punches the woman before fleeing.
Supt Rajab had said that the incident occurred around 9pm on Saturday (November 21) at a pharmacy along Jalan Gombak.
“The suspects managed to flee in a vehicle with two gold chains worth at least RM10,000.
“We have acquired CCTV images of the area and the controls revealed that both men were wearing masks and that the car they were using had a false license plate,” he said, adding that the case was being investigated as theft.
