PETANI RIVERTwo students from the school, a boy and a girl, both 13 years old, were among 11 people arrested in a raid, allegedly involved in drug trafficking, in Sungai Lalang here on Tuesday.

Kuala Muda ACP District Police Chief Adzly Abu Shah (pix) said that among them was a 38-year-old man believed to be the leader of the union, who is also a member of the secret society called ‘Geng 35’.

He said that in the 8.45pm raid on a warehouse, the police found 2.7 kilograms of heroin, worth RM136,000 inside a car.

Two gold rings, a necklace, a car and cash worth RM 2,100 were also seized.

“We believe that the drugs will be distributed by Sungai Lalang and Gurun and they have turned the warehouse into an operations center to avoid police detection,” he told a press conference here today.

All of the suspects, ages 13 to 57, were detained for seven days starting yesterday, under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act of 1952.

At the same event, Adzly said police also paralyzed a motorcycle theft group, active in Tikam Batu, after detaining four men aged 22 to 39 on September 12.

“With the arrest, we also recovered four motorcycle frames, dumped at Sungai Muda since 2018,” he said, adding that his modus operandi was to use a ‘master key’ to steal the motorcycle and remove valuable components before discarding the frame in the River.

“They also tested positive for methamphetamine and are being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code and Section 15 (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act of 1952,” he said.Named
