SAN FRANCISCO: Twitter Inc permanently suspended Steve Bannon’s account, while Google’s YouTube removed one of his videos after the former White House strategist defended violence against US officials on Thursday.

Bannon, in an episode of his online show “War Room Pandemic,” had earlier asked that the heads of Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and Christopher Wray, director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, be mounted in spades in the White House.

A Twitter spokesperson said Bannon’s @warroompandemic was permanently suspended for violating the platform’s rules, “specifically our policy on glorifying violence.” Such policies require enforcement actions against clear threats of violence, abuse, harassment and hateful content, a spokesperson said.

Google’s YouTube, owned by Alphabet Inc, removed the offending video and said it will suspend your account for “at least a week.”

“We removed this video for violating our policy against incitement to violence,” said Alex Joseph, YouTube spokesman. “We will remain vigilant as we enforce our policies in the post-election period.”

In the episode, Bannon called for a public dismissal of Fauci and Wray. “Actually, I want to go one step further,” he continued. “I would put heads on pikes…. as a warning to federal bureaucrats. “
