SINGAPORE: Tun Rahah Mohamed Noah was a source of strength, courage and inspiration for his family and for all Malaysians, said Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
“She resolutely stood by the side of her husband, the late Tun Abdul Razak Hussein when he ran Malaysia at a critical period in its history,” Lee said in his latest update on Facebook today.
“She will be remembered for her devotion to the country and family,” he wrote more in his post in which he attached a photo of Rahah.
Rahah, 87, the widow of Malaysia’s second prime minister, Abdul Razak, died at Prince Court Medical Center here yesterday afternoon.
Rahah will be buried next to the grave of her sister, Tun Suhailah Mohamed Noah, the mother of Foreign Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, at the Masjid Negara Mausoleum of Heroes.
At the beginning of the post, Lee wrote that he was “deeply saddened” to learn of the passing of Rahah, who is also the mother of former Prime Minister Najib Razak.
“Our thoughts are with his family and the people of Malaysia during this time of mourning,” Lee wrote.
