Trailer driver in SS2 tower crane accident has come forward, police say

PETALING JAYA: The trailer driver in an accident involving a tower crane and a car in SS2 has come forward, says Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal.

He said the driver filed a police report the same day the incident occurred.

“Our Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department is investigating the case under Rules 19 of Road Traffic Rules 166/59,” he said when contacted on Monday (September 21).

A woman had a close shave to death after part of a tower crane fell off a trailer and struck her car on Jalan SS2 / 24 in Petaling Jaya on Saturday (September 19).

In the 5.45pm incident, the 25-year-old victim was on his way home when part of a tower crane suddenly fell off the trailer and struck his car.

The roof, windshield and various other parts of the car were damaged on impact, but the victim escaped without a scratch.

Speaking after the incident, ACP Nik Ezanee said the initial investigation found that the accident occurred after part of the tower crane collided with two telephone poles, causing them to collapse onto Jalan SS2 / 24.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, a truck driver was killed after crashing his truck into a bus stop near Kampung Melaka Hulu Langat here.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said the incident happened around 12pm on Monday.

“The investigation revealed that the truck was trying to avoid a car parked there and crashed into the bus stop and various stalls. The medical officers who responded to the incident declared the truck driver dead at the scene,” he said, adding that both vehicles were stopped. To evaluate.

He added that investigations revealed that the 58-year-old truck driver may have had health problems during the incident.

“The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination at Serdang Hospital,” he said.
