PETALING JAYA: Christine Ti is a tough old woman, the septuagenarian lost her job after the motion control order, but she refused to be subdued and is still working hard, turning her faithful 25-year-old Kancil into a Foodpanda delivery person.
However, when the car broke down, things got very difficult for her and she is struggling to make ends meet.
The famous preacher Ebit Lew came to her rescue, but even he was moved to tears by the story of the KL native’s trials and tribulations.
“Her mother had just passed away, leaving her and another brother,” she said, saluting the old woman’s writing skills and revealing that she was previously a writer who lost her job at MCO.
“She is now giving birth to Foodpanda in her 25-year-old Kancil.”
Having heard her story, he offered to help pay for the vehicle’s service and replace its tires. He intended to visit his home upon learning that it was also in poor condition.
Although it was difficult to make ends meet, she said she was content and happy with her work.
“No office politics. Without children. Getting RM4 here and RM7 there, however, told me that even RM7 was hard to come by, ”Lew said.
“It pains me to see this happen to such a strong and diligent person.”
