KUALA LUMPUR: Police Inspector General (IGP) Abdul Hamid Bador has advised law enforcement personnel not to upload ‘Tik Tok’ videos while on duty.

He said it was improper for an officer wearing the uniform to ‘dance’ and upload them to social media, as it would only tarnish the department’s image.

“This blue (police) uniform is sacred, so it is not pleasant if we wear the uniform and perform acts that do not fit the work culture,” he said.

He was speaking to reporters after presenting certificates of appreciation to eight Bukit Aman policemen for refusing bribes during an operation.

On Saturday, a female police officer from the Kelantan police contingent faced disciplinary action after uploading a video of her dancing while putting on her uniform at Tik Tok.

Kelantan Police Chief Shafien Mamat said the video, which went viral, could tarnish the department’s image and contradict its code of ethics.
