KUALA LUMPUR, September 18 – Last month TM introduced faster Unifi broadband plans with speeds up to 800 Mbps. On top of that, you can get the option to add packages like Unifi Plus Box and Unifi Mobile at a significant discount.
When the plans were announced, both the 800Mbps and 500Mbps plans were listed with an upload speed of 200Mbps. It turns out that TM has quietly cut the speed of its 500Mbps plan in half.
If you visit the Unifi Your World page, the 500 Mbps plan now appears with a 100 Mbps upload. The reduced upload speed is also updated on the main fiber broadband page.
This upload speed change was discovered by one of our readers who had signed up for the 500Mbps plan on August 24th. Apparently TM had declared the upload speed of 200 Mbps by mistake and it should have been 100 Mbps.
The 500Mbps fiber broadband TM Unifi plan with 100Mbps upload speed is currently RM249 / mo without the extra packages, but you get a free Mesh WiFi Deco M9 Plus worth RM999. For comparison, Maxis offers 500 Mbps with an upload speed of 100 Mbps at RM219 / month, and it comes with 2 units of Mesh WiFi.
