Netflix is not well known for its action movies. Previously, those produced by Netflix are simply meh. However, an action movie recently released on the platform has managed to garner rave reviews from fans demanding a sequel. Yes, we are talking about “Extraction” and yes, we are pretty sure you have heard of it or probably already seen the movie.
The movie was exciting, but what most Malaysians were excited about was seeing many of our Proton cars in the movie. From Satria Neo to the infamous Savvy, these legendary Proton cars are set in the movie’s high-octane action scenes. But one wonders, why are there so many protons that can be seen in the movie? Well our friends in SoyaCincau contacted Sam Hargrave, the director of the movie Extraction, and here is what he had to say:
“During our explorers to Dhaka, Bangladesh and all of India, we saw many Proton cars on the streets. To be as authentic as possible, we wanted to make sure that Proton cars were showcased throughout the film. There were even some police vehicles in Dhaka, Bangladesh that were made by Proton. So we also wanted to be authentic. So it was about trying to be as honest and authentic as possible for the region. ”
There you go Although Chris Hemsworth failed to get behind the wheel of a Proton during any of the movie’s action scenes, we are still proud to know that these cars are tough enough to be part of the best action movie produced by Netflix.
