The Premier League could resume behind closed doors from June 1 after the UK government established a roadmap to exit the coronavirus blockade measures on Monday.

Sources told ESPN that the Department of Culture, Media and Sports (DCMS) will speak to all the major UK sports bodies to explain the details of the government’s proposal for professional sport to resume from June 1. . DCMS has held regular meetings with soccer authorities since the game was suspended, but Tuesday is understood to be the most significant due to the possibility of clarity being provided before the sport’s early return.
