PSG duo Neymar and Angel Di Maria have reportedly already contacted Lionel Messi about a possible Barcelona trade.

Messi surprised the football world when faxed a transfer request to the club on Tuesday night.

That has led to countless rumors of where the Barca legend could be playing his football next season.

Manchester City, Manchester United, PSG and Juventus have been mentioned as possible destinations. However, it seems that Neymar and Di Maria are contributing their bit to the giants of Ligue 1.

ESPN reports that mega-wealthy PSG has yet to make an offer to the 33-year-old, but that two of his top names are laying the groundwork for a deal.

Neymar and Messi enjoy a close relationship, after their previous time together, while Di María is an international ally.

The report adds that PSG could facilitate a deal for Messi. But “only on the basis that he has been granted a free transfer from Barcelona.”

That’s because the French club has cut its payroll considerably this summer.

But if Barcelona adhere to the forward’s € 700 million buyout clause, PSG and any other club would be excluded from a transfer.

Messi enjoyed another incredible season, scoring 31 goals and adding 26 assists in all competitions. But Barça had a surprise after losing to Real in LaLiga. They were also crushed 8-2 by Bayern in the Champions League.

That led to Quique Setien being fired and Ronald Koeman replaced him..

The Dutchman will now oversee a major reform, but Messi does not want to be part of that process.

The legendary figure is on board for a new challenge at this stage in his career. Although it remains to be seen if it is in Paris, Manchester, Turin or beyond.

MESSI ASTONISHED AT THE BOAT DEPARTURE

Meanwhile, Ronald Koeman reportedly surprised Lionel Messi into deciding to leave Barcelona by insisting that the forward no longer has a guaranteed place in the squad.

In confrontational talks between the pair about Messi’s future, Koeman reportedly said: “Your privileges in the team are over, you have to do everything for the team.

“I will be inflexible, you have to think about the team.” Read more…
