Malaysians planning to return from their home cities after the relaxation of the movement control order can begin their journey between May 7-10.
Defense Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said police have set dates to accommodate more than 500,000 requests received to travel back to major city centers.
“As I have explained before, we will allow Malaysians trapped in their hometowns to return to the city.
“Therefore, the police will prepare a travel schedule for their trip,” said the chief minister in charge of the security group at the daily press conference of the National Security Council Covid-19 in Putrajaya.
“The police will issue a statement with details about when, where and others.
“But when can I say today that it will start on May 7 and end on May 10,” he said.
Ismail also urged public officials in particular not to rush home to start work this Monday, as they have been given permission to only return to the office after the travel date set by the police.
“For example, if their schedule falls on Friday, they can wait until Friday and only resume work next Monday,” he added.
