In a statement today, it said that FGV’s subsidiary, FGV Dairy Farm Sdn Bhd, recently received an additional 130 cross-bred dairy heifers from Australia, which are a hybrid of the Jersey and Friesian dairy cattle breeds, totaling 258 head. of dairy cattle.
He said the livestock shipment was to meet the increased volume of fresh milk production, as well as increased local demand, especially from the hotel, restaurant and café market segment.
“In less than nine months since the start of the dairy farm project in March 2020, the premium house brand ‘Bright Cow’ had been processing more than 500,000 liters of fresh milk for local consumption, contributed by the fresh milk produced by FGV Dairy Linggi. farm and stocked by external dairy farms.
“We have also installed an automated milking parlor and daily milk logging system in the cloud to ensure the quality of our dairy products and the productivity of our dairy farm,” he said.
According to him, the general improvement work for the dairy farm is almost complete with improvements to the infrastructure, raw material areas, milking parlor and cattle barn, while the improvement work for a calf barn has been fully completed. .
He said that several new formulations, flavors and packaging of Bright Cow products were also in the works and were undergoing product testing and stability testing prior to the planned launch in April 2021.
“FGV’s initiatives are in line with the government’s vision of shared prosperity by offering contract farming opportunities among the country’s ranchers,” he said.
Within the framework of the National Dairy Industry Development Program, the government aims to guarantee self-sufficiency in the national production of fresh milk by 2025, providing an opportunity for organizations such as FGV to benefit from import substitution and become a major player in the locally produced fresh milk industry.
