The Ministry of Health has vacancies for 1,899 contracted officials

COVID-19 | The Ministry of Health (MOH) is requesting 1,899 contracted workers to support health services during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The vacancies available to workers are as follows:

  • Investigative officers

  • Nurses

  • Medical assistants

  • Auxiliary Environmental Health Officers

  • Laboratory technicians

  • Administrative assistants

Successful applicants can be placed in hospitals, health clinics, laboratories, district health departments, and the Ministry of Health Crisis Preparedness and Response Center (CPRC).

Some applicants will be placed in quarantine stations across the country or at various points of entry into the country.

According to Health Minister Dr. Adham Baba, the federal government agreed to increase the number of health workers by 2,000 as part of the Prihatin economic stimulus package.

Adham’s statement did not indicate the length of the contract period. Malaysiakini has requested clarification from Adham’s office.

Malaysia is currently dealing with the highest number of active Covid-19 cases on record, primarily in Sabah.

Some Sabah hospital staff have said Malaysiakini who are currently facing a lot of stress.

The Ministry of Health has been sending personnel from other parts of the country to support efforts in Sabah.
