YOUR OPINION | “The need for a police investigation points to double standards.”
The police will investigate the FT minister for having dinner with six other people
GoldenTrout5780: I am very disappointed with the double standards that are happening in this country.
If Malaysia is compared to a school, then Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin would be a failed principal, he does not even care or dare to punish his ‘teachers’ – the ministers.
We have seen many obvious cases that violate standard operating procedures (SOPs), but Muhyiddin, while emphasizing that we should not have double standards in this country, chose to remain silent and pretend nothing happened.
I think many of us would definitely agree that the current cabinet is full of incapable “teachers” and a back door “principal.”
Unfortunately for us, it is the rakyat who are defenseless at the moment. I desperately hope for a better Malaysia as soon as possible.
Jabba the Hutt: On the same day (such as the Federal Territories Minister Annuar Musa’s lunch), 13 people sitting at a very large table in a restaurant in Petaling Jaya for a Chinese New Year dinner, presumably sitting a meter apart, were each fined with 1,000 RM just because the SOP said only two could sit at a table, even if the table was the size of a football field.
Here we have seven people, including the minister, sitting at a single table. So what is there to investigate? Put the fine of RM1,000 on each of them.
Caripasal: In other similar cases involving ordinary people, they were summoned to the scene or asked to turn themselves in at a police station.
When it came to a minister, they chose to open an investigation. It is not surprising that he allegedly committed the same crime, but the police do not dare to take action against him.
That we know the result of the investigation resulting from the three person hike? Did the police fire you just for being a minister?
Main point: When a member of the public is caught in a store and / or restaurant for not following the SOP, both the customer and the business owner are immediately fined. So why in this case is a police report necessary and then wait for an investigation?
Is it because he is a minister? This is not the first time, that’s why people laugh at this country.
VioletPigeon9616: Great question, @KeyPoint. Unfortunately, the answer is clear.
They will not be fined like ordinary rakyats because they are powerful politicians. Just watch and see – the case will quietly disappear and be swept under the rug. This is Malaysia.
GreenMoose7204: As a minister, one would feel compelled to seek clarification from the organizer before attending the event, even for a few seconds.
But no, it is “I am the Minister of Federal Territories, therefore untouchable. So what is a fine of 1,000 RM? A little money in exchange for the support I am getting to further my political aspirations.”
That has been the attitude of our BN ministers and now Perikatan Nasional (PN).
We just hope that those who support them will open their eyes to arrogance and in turn support those who are humble and always willing to back the rakyat without all this shenanigans.
Just me: Why the hell do you think foreign investors would still want to come and pump their money into this country?
We have a photo and proof of the six people sitting together flaunting the current SOPs and the police want to open an investigative document?
How many times have we read that a research document is being opened and then the result / outcome is not mentioned later? Another new story will take center stage tomorrow and all of these would have been forgotten.
Please cop, have the integrity to do your job without fear or favor. Black is black, white is white, call things by name. There is no need to waste taxpayers’ money opening “investigation” papers.
Malay1: Rather, authorities focus resources on ensuring that standard operating procedures are followed in prisons and training centers. Try to nip any bunches in the bud.
As for the minister’s explanation, if you can accept a similar explanation from a layman, accept the minister’s explanation.
Jaycee: Just stop the hypocrisy with all these coincidences.
Just say that there are two sets of laws here. One for the ministers, their families, cronies and the wealthy elites. This group of people can violate SOPs during any motion control order (motion control order) and are not subject to fines.
And there is another for the rest of the rakyat. And we better follow standard operating procedures diligently, so help us, God.
R Venugopal: In fact, don’t waste your time investigating, as you’ll end up with NFA (no further action). Annuar is untouchable and this is a known fact. The prime minister needs your votes.
Second, our prime minister does not reprimand his ministers because he is very afraid of them. Why? Otherwise, he would be expelled from his position as PM.
Two come out: Interior Minister Hamzah Zainudin wants to investigate those who oppose the emergency.
But he is very silent about companions’Skip‘ministers who have clearly violated the MCO SOPs, not once but many times.
It is about fear of losing support and then losing power.
ProtossStargate1337: Hey, I come from the future, nothing is ever going to happen to these people.
