Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp allegedly rejected an approach by Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Le10 Sport, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp rejected an approach by Paris Saint-Germain’s sports director Leonardo in late 2019.
Leonardo is alleged to have started communicating with managers in December 2019, contacting the unemployed Massimiliano Allegri to see if he would like to move to Paris.
However, Leonardo also attempted a bold move by contacting Liverpool boss Klopp, and it’s not a big surprise that the approach has been rejected.
Klopp allegedly said that he was not seen leaving Liverpool in the “short or medium term”, and that he was very happy at Anfield, so Leonardo moved on.
Thomas Tuchel’s work is apparently at risk despite PSG being crowned Ligue 1 champion, and even guiding them to the last eight of the Champions League.
The German may still be replaced this summer, but at least Liverpool fans need not worry about the possibility of Klopp leaving soon.
In December, Klopp signed a new contract until 2024 anyway, so it was very bold for Leonardo to even attempt such a move, as the German clearly does not plan to leave soon, even because of PSG’s riches.
