KUALA LUMPUR: The public can see the latest modifications to the Putrajaya MRT line from Thursday (Sept. 17) to Dec.17, says Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp).
Site context plans and other documents on the railway modifications can be inspected at the Public Land Transport Agency (APAD) office on the ground floor of Menara Tun Ismail Mohamed Ali, Jalan Raja Laut in Kuala Lumpur.
The documents will be displayed for inspection from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays.
In a statement on Wednesday (September 16), MRT Corp said that the modifications to the rail scheme are due to a cost rationalization exercise by the government in 2018.
He added that the exercise has resulted in a cost reduction of RM8.82 billion from RM39.35 billion to RM30.53 billion.
The modifications are made by adopting a new approach based on passenger demand data shared by the Public Land Transport Agency rather than the previous capacity building approach.
Among the modifications to be made are the delayed opening of the Bandar Malaysia Utara and Bandar Malaysia Selatan subway stations and the postponement or revision of access to the stations and pedestrian bridges.
Other modifications include the postponement of multi-story park and amusement facilities to be replaced by level park and amusement facilities, and others.
Public inspection or display is a requirement under Section 84 of the Public Land Transportation Act of 2010.
