PETALING JAYA: Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing apologized to Health Director General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah for the comments he made in Parliament on Wednesday (November 11).
“To ensure that Dewan Rakyat’s procedures are smooth and in the interest of the country, as well as the harmony of the nation, I offer my apologies if I had overstepped my speech during the 2021 budget debate,” Tiong said in a statement. . on Sunday (November 15).
He added that he had not intended to deny all the noble deeds of doctors, nurses and avant-garde, including the director general of Health.

The apology came after four days of intense pressure on Tiong to apologize to Dr. Noor Hisham from both ruling MPs and the opposition.
However, Tiong had initially insisted that he had said nothing wrong.
On November 11, the chairman of the Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party said in the Dewan Rakyat that Dr. Noor Hisham feared for his life from the Covid-19 pandemic.
He had asked why Dr. Noor Hisham did not hit the ground in Sabah when Covid-19 cases were at their highest in the state.

Dr. Noor Hisham had responded the same day saying that he was not afraid to die and that he had fulfilled his obligations in Sabah.
